Terms and Conditions of Registration

1.  The parents must agree to the Terms and Conditions of Registration  and Re-registration set out below. The parents must also agree and, on their child’s behalf agree, to abide by the school’s policies and procedures especially The Homework Policy, The Beginning and End of Day Procedure, The Rewards and Sanctions Policy and The School Uniform Policy.

2.  Registration  and  re-registration  must  be  conducted  through  the Registrar who will confirm if a vacancy exists.

3.  At   Registration   the   student   must   pass   an   interview   with   the Department Co-ordinator, which will involve short tests.  A copy of the student’s most recent school report must be provided

4. The   parent   shall   pay   a   non-refundable   deposit   of   KD 100  on  for registration or KD100 on re-registration. If the parents decide that their child should not attend the school or continue the school year they are not entitled to a refund of the registration or re-registration fees.

5.  The level of fees for each academic year is determined by the school. If a student is registered before the date upon which the fees for the next academic year are announced, the fees due will be at the levels determined subsequent to the date of registration.

6.  The parents shall pay full school fees in three equal instalments.  The first  instalment  is due in September  and the second instalment  is due in  January and the last instalment is due in April.    The  late  payment  of  an  instalment  will  incur  an administration charge of KD50 per instalment period, per student.

7.  Parents should not use the facility provided by KIB for the direct payment  of  deposits  and/or  fees  until  they  have  completed  the registration or re-registration procedure at the school and had the allocation of a place to their son/daughter confirmed.

8.  If the student is unable to start school on the first day of the school year, the school must be notified in writing prior to the first day of the school year.  In such a case the parents must have paid the first instalment by the first day of the school year.

9.  If the school has not received notification of a late start in writing to the Registrar, or by email to the Registrar at registrar@aldanahbsk.net, or if notification has been received and the first instalment has not been  paid, the student will be deemed to be not attending, the student’s  place will be lost and the deposit will be forfeit.  Should the parents still  wish  their  child  to  attend  the  school  after  this  period,  it  will  be necessary for the parents to begin the registration procedure again. The result of this may be that there is no place for the student.  If the first instalment has been paid, the place shall be reserved until the second instalment is due.

10.  The parents are not entitled to a refund of the first instalment, and the school has the right to claim the first instalment, if the student started to attend the school, even for one day, during this period.

11.  The parents are not entitled to avoid the payment of the second instalment if their child is unable to attend the school, unless the school is notified in writing at least six weeks prior to the date that the second fee instalment is due.

12.  The parents are not entitled to a refund of the second instalment, and the school has the right to claim the second instalment, if the student started to attend the school, even for one day, during this period.

13.  If the parents do not pay the full fee for the complete school year, the school has the right to claim the full fee.

14.  In the case of a full year’s fees being paid in advance, the place will be reserved for the whole of the school year.  If a parent gives at least four weeks’ notice that their child will not be attending after the date that the second fee instalment is due, then the second fee instalment will be refunded less an administration fee of KD25.

15.  Parents are required by Kuwaiti Law to submit the medical records of  their child at the time of initial registration.  The school may refuse registration if medical records are not submitted at this time.  In the case of medical records not being immediately available for clearly stated reasons outside of the parents’ control, a period of up to eight weeks will be allowed for submission.  After that time the school reserves the right to exclude a student until the medical records have been submitted and charge an administration fee of KD25.

16.  If a student does not fulfil the academic requirements to move to the next year, the school will require the student to repeat the failed year. In the KG, Middle and High School Departments a Grade C or above in either English or Mathematics is required.  Should the student fail the year again the school reserves the right to refuse re-registration.  If a student fails a year, and has already been re-registered, parents wishing to withdraw their child from the school will receive a refund less an administration fee of KD25.

17.  If a student fails a year, and has already been re-registered, the school reserves the right to insist that the student repeats the failed year or, if the parent is unwilling to accept this, is withdrawn from the school.  If a student fails a repeated year and has already been re-registered, the school reserves the right to insist that the student is withdrawn from the school.  In such cases the parents will receive a refund less an administration fee of KD25.

18.  If a student does not fulfil the school’s behavioural requirements, then subject to the pursuance of appropriate procedures, the school will refuse registration or re-registration.  If the student has already been re-registered parents will receive a refund less an administration fee of KD25

19.  Whilst every care is taken to ensure the safety and well-being of all students, parents shall not hold the school liable for injuries resulting  from accidents occurring whilst their child is in the care of the school.

20.  The parents accept that the school shall not be held responsible or liable for the loss of or damage to any item brought into the school.

21.  Photographs  of  students  often  feature  in  the  press  and  in  DUSK publications as part of the Marketing Policy of the school.  If parents do not wish their son’s/daughter’s photograph to appear, a written request must be submitted to the Principal before September 01 of every academic year.

22.  The parents confirm that all the information presented in support of the application is complete and accurate and that there are no issues of an academic, behavioural or medical nature that have not been disclosed.

23.  The parents accept that the school reserves the right to require a student to leave if, subsequent to the submission of an application and the signing of The Terms and Conditions of Registration and Re-Registration, information is discovered or disclosed that would have led to the rejection of that application.
