Vice Principal's Message

Ms. Sadia A.Rizwan,

Vice Principal Middle School and High School.

Dear Parents of High School Learners,

This year I am Vice-Principal of High School at Danah.  Those of you who have had your children at the school for several years, know me by now.  It is a new role that I share with you this academic year 2019 - 2020, and I hope to fulfill this role with care, love, and diligence.

I understand the role of teacher well, as I do the role played by learners to make the school environment fair, friendly and for learners to become interested in their learning needs. My aim and mission for this academic year are to make DUSK a place where learners feel that learning can be an adventure and that learning is not so much about content and textbook but more about real-life learning experiences and how their subjects fit into the real world of learning and growing. These skills students acquire in the classroom are by far the most important aspect of education. The dynamic framework of respect, trust, creativity, self-discipline and the understanding that hard work does pay off, all encounter the learner with ideas that have far-reaching consequences beyond the core responsibilities of understanding and appropriating content.

My mission as High School Vice-principal is to engage my learners with these important qualities at all levels.  I hope to engage with parents and learners in a "strict but fair" atmosphere where learners are allowed to explore their culture, society, community and their own selves with a feeling of safety and pride.  Great achievements can only be met when all stakeholders are on board to see that the success of the school is built on interaction with parents, teachers, administrators, learners and the larger community as a whole.  I am hoping that we can all work together to strive for greatness and understand that learner outcome is less about achieving exceptional grades, but more about teaching the learner how to become and act like a global citizen in all their future business and work successes; that the growth of a learner is achieved through the discourse and framework of life-skills such as respect for each other and for themselves; that critical thinking is the hallmark of a great mind;  that self-discipline is the key to a healthier mind and body;  that knowledge is the greatest gift one can give oneself and finally, that a true citizen of the world is one who works every day to manage and achieve their goals, no matter how large or how small.

Onwards and upwards!
